No flies on this little lady: Sasha the Shetland pony covered up to protect against bugs and ended up resembling Nigella Lawson in her full-body swimsuit
When it comes to the must-have outfit of the summer, it’s a one-horse race. From the seaside to the stable, it’s all about the burkini.
In her head-to-tail cover-up, Sasha the Shetland pony appears to have taken style tips from Nigella Lawson who hit the beach this week in a full-body swimsuit.
But Sasha’s coat serves a serious purpose – protecting her from insect bites which bring her out in an uncomfortable skin condition known as Sweet Itch.
Her owner Sophie Matthews, 16, from Lower Bockhampton in Dorset, said: ‘The coat is made of breathable material, so it keeps her cool, and the annoying flies can’t bite her.’
Earlier this week, Miss Lawson was pictured in unrevealing swimsuit on a visit to Bondi Beach in Australia.
The 51-year-old Domestic Goddess opted for a full cover-up against the late-summer Sydney sun as she splashed in the water with a companion.
Miss Lawson’s outfit resembled a burkini – a three-piece swimsuit designed to preserve the modesty of Muslim women – with a baseball cap beneath the hood.
It's a cover up: Miss Lawson played in the surf at Bondi Beach in Australia in a Burkini-style full-body swimsuit to protect her fair skin from sunburn
The explanation was that the fair-skinned star was worried about sunburn. Prompting the question: Why bother going on the beach, then?
The mother-of-three is currently down under to film a new series of MasterChef, on which she will be making a guest appearance alongside Rick Stein and Heston Blumenthal.
