Best of friends or too lazy to care? Napping cat gives bite-sized chick a cuddle

By Daily Mail Reporter

The attention-seeking chick pecks at the cat's paw - a risky move for some

It could be an interspecies friendship, a loss of appetite or perhaps just plain laziness.

Whatever the reason, this cat barely bats an eye as a tiny chick snuggles into its fur.

The British video is the latest in a series of clips featuring Oscar the cat and Chick which have enjoyed more than 1.5 million views on Youtube.

The cat, half-asleep, twitches its paw out of the way, and the chick seizes its opportunity

The cat looks mildly irritated as the baby bird nestles into its fur

For most felines the baby bird would make for an irresistible bite-sized snack, but this placid pet appears determined to ignore it.

In fact, the closest thing to a reaction is a twitch of the cat's paw after the fearless chick gives it a few pecks - only to rush under the predator's raised leg for comfort.

Seemingly too tired to care, the cat simply gazes into the middle-distance as the little brown chicken scrambles up its chest, chirping happily all the while.

Finally, with the restless chick settled, the cat is left to do its best to drift off.
